What we collect

When you enquire, we collect the details you give us: your name, contact details, the property, the loan you need, your exit, your timing and experience, and anything you add in the notes. We also record the page you came from and your IP address, to detect spam.

Why we collect it and on what basis

To assess your enquiry and, with your consent, to share it with lenders in order to obtain terms. The legal basis is your consent (given by ticking the box on the form) and, once you proceed, the performance of a contract with you. We do not run a credit search at enquiry stage. Lenders will run their own checks if you proceed, and will tell you how they handle your data.

Who we share it with

Lenders we approach for terms, and, once you proceed, valuers and solicitors involved in the transaction. Our email and hosting providers process data on our behalf. We do not sell your data and we do not pass it to third parties for marketing.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not proceed are deleted after 12 months. Completed cases are kept for six years after completion, as required for our records and to deal with any later queries.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct or delete it, or withdraw consent at any time by emailing hello@britishbridgingcompany.co.uk. You can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
